Cookie Policy

A cookie is a small text file a website stores on your device when you visit it. Cookies allow the website to remember you, your preferences, or your activity between visits. Modern web browsers also support related technologies (localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB); for the purpose of this Policy, we use the word “cookie” to cover all of them.

This Policy applies to pathshala.co, pathshalainc.com, every institute subdomain (*.pathshala.co and *.pathshalainc.com), the institute custom-domain portals we host, and the marketing app at app.pathshala.co.

We group cookies into four categories so you can make an informed choice:

• Essential — required for the Service to function (e.g., to keep you logged in). Cannot be turned off. We rely on the “strictly necessary” exemption under GDPR Art. 5(3) / ePrivacy and the equivalent provisions in the DPDP Act and CCPA/CPRA.
• Functional — remember preferences that improve your experience (theme, last-used institute, language). Off by default; you opt in.
• Analytics — help us understand aggregate usage so we can improve the Service. We do not run third-party analytics today; this category is reserved for future server-side, privacy-preserving telemetry.
• Marketing — would be set by advertising partners. We currently set zero marketing cookies. The category exists for transparency and so the banner's UI is stable if that ever changes.

Pathshala does not run third-party analytics or behavioural trackers today. If we ever do, we will:

• list each cookie here before turning it on,
• gate it behind this category in the consent banner,
• prefer privacy-preserving server-side analytics that cannot be used to identify individual users.

Pathshala does not run advertising trackers (e.g., Meta Pixel, Google Ads, LinkedIn Insight Tag). We do not show third-party ads in the Service. If we ever do, we will list each cookie here, gate it behind this category, and email Institute owners before turning it on under the material-change clause in the Privacy Policy.

Some pages embed third-party widgets that set their own cookies only after you accept the relevant category:

• Cal.com — sales-inquiry scheduling embedded on the marketing site. Loaded only when the Functional category is accepted. See the Cal.com Privacy Policy.
• Stripe — checkout pages on checkout.stripe.com. Stripe sets its own session and fraud-prevention cookies during a checkout session. See the Stripe Cookies Policy.
• Daily.co — the live-class video provider. Sets WebRTC/session cookies while you are in a live session. See the Daily.co Privacy Policy.

You can manage your cookie choices at any time:

• Click Cookie preferences in the footer to re-open the banner and change category choices.
• Clear the ps_consent cookie in your browser to force the banner to re-appear on next visit.
• Use your browser's built-in cookie controls. Most browsers let you block all third-party cookies, delete cookies on exit, or refuse cookies from specific sites.
• Enable Global Privacy Control (GPC) in your browser; Pathshala honours GPC as a request to reject the Functional, Analytics, and Marketing categories.

Blocking essential cookies will break login and other core Service features.
