Refund Policy
Effective date: May 25, 2026 · Pathshala Inc., Commonwealth of Virginia, USA
1. Summary
All Pathshala OS subscription fees are non-refundable except as expressly provided in this Refund Policy. The binding text lives in §6 of the Master Services Agreement; this page is a plain-language summary for Institute owners and finance teams.
2. Eligible charges
The following may be refunded if you file in time (see §3):
- The most recent new subscription charge — the very first charge after signup.
- The most recent renewal charge — i.e., a monthly or annual renewal that was processed in the last 24 hours.
- An upgrade charge processed in the last 24 hours, refundable on a pro-rated basis once we account for the higher tier that was active during that window.
3. What is NOT refundable
- Any charge older than 24 hours.
- Recording-overage charges (metered usage you have already consumed).
- Stripe / Razorpay / payment-processor pass-through fees.
- SMS, voice, or other per-message third-party usage charges.
- Custom-domain SSL fees we paid on your behalf to a registrar or CA.
- Applicable taxes (we remit these to the government on your behalf).
- Setup, onboarding, or professional-services charges once the work has started.
- Charges where the Institute has materially breached the MSA or AUP (e.g., abuse, fraud).
4. How to request a refund
To request a refund, send an email from the Institute owner's email on file to:
Include:
- your Institute name and slug;
- the Stripe invoice or charge ID (visible at Dashboard → Account → Billing);
- the reason for the request.
The email must be received within twenty-four (24) hours of the time Stripe posted the charge. Requests submitted later will not be honoured, regardless of reason, except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your jurisdiction requires otherwise (see §7).
5. Timeline
- We acknowledge every refund request within two (2) business days.
- If approved, the refund is issued to the original payment method.
- Approved refunds typically appear on the Institute's statement within five to ten (5–10) business days, depending on the issuing bank and card network.
6. Downgrades & cancellation are free
You can cancel auto-renewal at any time from Dashboard → Account → Billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep access until that period ends. We do not pro-rate refunds for the unused portion of a period, but we also do not delete your data — you can return at any time. See our data-retention rules for what happens after cancellation.
7. Consumer-law rights
Nothing in this Refund Policy limits any mandatory consumer right you may have under local law. Examples:
- EU/UK distance-selling withdrawal. Where applicable, individual consumers (not businesses) in the EEA or UK may have a 14-day withdrawal right. By requesting immediate access to the Service you may waive this right; the binding text is in the MSA.
- India. The Consumer Protection Act 2019 provides separate remedies in cases of deficiency of service.
- United States. Card-network chargeback rights remain available; we ask that you contact admin@pathshala.co first so we can resolve the issue directly.
